    Who wrote this song?

This song was written as part of the Phoenix and the Angel project led by Guy Phoenix.

Guy Phoenix grew up in the United Arab Emirates. This song was written by an Irish duo ('The Establishment') who used to play at the Hilton hotel on a Friday during Brunch. Here's Guy:

I spent 8 years as a boy in the UAE - first Dubai, then Abu Dhabi - so clearly there had to be a song about it on 'Places that I Remember'. The challenge I had was that every time I came to write a song, I simply couldn't get past the memory of seeing and hearing 'Life in the Emirates' being played by 'The Establishment'. They were an Irish duo - Michael Kiely and Patrick Brady. So I decided to do a cover version. Their original style for the song is more Irish Folk. I tried to create a version that's a bit more rock n' roll.
