This song is all about Formula One racing. From first sight of it on the TV as a little boy, to attending F1 races as a man. Here's Guy:
The idea for this song originally started as 3 songs – one each about the F1 races that I went to in 2017 (Montreal) 2018 (Austin) and 2019 (Abu Dhabi). Then I decided to merge them into 1 song, but it still wasn't doing it for me. Until one morning I had a realisation – the 'Place I remember' is the lounge in my family home when I was a young boy (5/6 years old) sitting on the floor watching Formula One racing on TV. So this song is about growing up watching F1 on TV as a boy, and the sheer amazement that as an adult I'm able to go and watch these races in the flesh.
Ultimately it's about a love and passion for Formula One motor racing that was seeded as a young boy and will never leave me.
