I joined an amateur sailing/racing team in the British Virgin Islands in 2010. The yacht was a Beneteau First 10R, and it was called 'Luxury Girl'. This song is about some of the times spent racing that yacht in the Caribbean.
We raced in several Caribbean regattas, including the BVI Spring Regatta, USVI Regatta and St Maarten Heineken Regatta, achieving class wins in each of them.
I wanted to generate an overall feeling of exhilaration in the song – the adrenaline rush of racing a yacht fast and all of the teamwork and effort that goes into it.
